It has come to my knowledge sadly there are people who will claim that inclusion and universalism are “the other gospel” which would lead one to be cursed.
This is their so-called authority.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!
What these people so convenient choose to forget is the theme of the book of Galatians.
People returning to the Law.
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel —
“We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?
But now that you know God—or rather are known by God —how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?
Do you see now the “other gospel” is actually the Law?
About the gospel of the angels and curses.
Look at what says about the angels.
Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator.
The law was given through ten angels.
Now look at this.
you who have received the law that was given through angels but have not obeyed it.”
And finally this.
For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,
What is the “gospel proclaim by the angels”?
It was the Law.
Now pertaining to curses.
For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”
How do these Galatians come under the curse?
By returning to the Law.
Is inclusion or universalism the “other gospel”? Only an illiterate bias prejudiced person would teach that.
It’s actually the most law free gospel there is. It’s also absolutely free from any curse.
On the other hand, to tell someone he needs to believe to be included to be in Christ is teaching dualism.
It’s also opening out people’s minds to the possibility of being under a curse or the belief there is a loving Father that would curse His children.
That truly is a fearful “gospel” which is not a gospel at all. It’s sad to hear such things coming out from the grace community: a gospel which separates.
