Some one said “if God killed his Son, what do you think he would do to us his adopted sons, if we continued to sin”.
”God killed his Son.”
Read this carefully.
Surely he took up OUR pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we CONSIDERED him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
What does it mean by “WE CONSIDERED HIM PUNISHED BY GOD?”
It means God DIDN’T punish his Son. It also means WE ARE THE ONES WHO THOUGHT AND WERE UNDER THE MISIMPRESSION THAT God killed his Son.
But he was pierced for OUR transgressions,
he was crushed for OUR iniquities;
the punishment that brought US peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
Jesus said this.
No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
NO ONE TAKES IT FROM ME, but I lay it down OF MY OWN ACCORD.
To hell with penal substitution teaching. It’s slander against the character of God of the highest kind.
