Satan has never been a thief.

Do you know John 10:10 is actually not about the devil?

Look at the verses preceding John 10:10.

John 10:7-10

Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Now.

Many people read the word “thief” and thinks Jesus is referring to Satan.

It isn’t.

Notice how the passage starts.

John 10:7

Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.

Therefore.

As such it’s a continuation from the previous verse.

John 10:6

Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.

“The Pharisees.“

Hence, the word “therefore”.

The “thief” there as such was the teaching and the doctrine of the Pharisees. The old covenant.

Also these thieves came before Jesus. This is referring to the Mosaic covenant.

So.

There is no mention of devils or satans there. It’s all bad teaching.

Know that the scriptures are Jewish not Western.
