The difference between the absence of Law and Lawlessness.

1 John 3:4

Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.

Do you realize that in order to be lawless, the law needs to exist?

If there is no law, you cannot have lawlessness.

That’s because lawlessness is not the absence of law but breaking the law.

Now when the law became obsolete, you can no longer break the law.

This is because there is no law to break. As such lawlessness can no longer exist.

So.

When the law became obsolete, sin too became obsolete.

    1. Sin is sin because there was the law of Moses. So since the Law is gone sin is gone. What you have today is called crime and torts.
