How to leave the world while you are in the world?

Guys. I really don’t understand why you keep insisting that you shouldn’t belong to this world.

When Paul asked us not to be of this world, he meant for us leave the world of the old covenant.

You don’t end up “leaving the world” by living like a moronic hermit. You leave it by leaving the Law and it’s system. You leave it by embracing grace.

1 Corinthians 7:29-31

What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not; those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.

That was almost 2000 years ago. This is how it should be read when the Law and it’s system ended in AD70.

1 Corinthians 7:29-31

What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time was short then. From now to AD70 those who have wives should live as if they do not; those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form (ie under the Mosaic system) passed away in AD70.

Get a life. In this world.
