For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
Much of our theology centers around the death of Jesus. As such, our lives are merely centered around being reconciled.
So most of what we preach is about how to “work” to keep this reconciliation in place.
However Paul tells we shouldn’t focus on that. In this verse he tells us to focus on the resurrection.
When we do that, we realized that reconciliation is already a done deal. It is finished.
He also says when we focus on the resurrection, we should no longer question if we are saved. That’s because so long as he lives you are saved.
That’s when you really live. The cross is the end of the Law. You are the beginning of His life.
who has become a priest, not on the basis of a legal requirement concerning bodily descent, but by the power of an indestructible life.
