who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
A lot of people look at this verse and say that we will receive a glorious body when we are “raptured”.
The body of Jesus here does not referred to the resurrected Jesus but when he was on earth.
His body was the temple of God.
But the temple he had spoken of was his body.
When Paul spoke about this, he was awaiting what would transpire in AD70. When the temple was destroyed, we became the temple.
We already are like the glorious body of Jesus.
1 John 4:17
This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.
Notice this? It is in this world we are like Jesus not the next. The day of judgment is AD70.
The word “world” here is cosmos not aeon. So there you have it, we already have a glorious body. The new temple of God. The new “heaven and earth”.
May that blow your mind.
