The two trees have become one.

Here’s something that will blow your mind.

Genesis 2:9
The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

In the beginning there were 2 trees. One that gives life. One that gives rules. It also brings death.

Genesis 2:16-17
And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

It also brought curses.

Genesis 3:17
To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’
“Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat food from it.
all the days of your life.

Most of us do not realize the cross is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Galatians 3:13
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

So what is the tree of life? It’s Jesus. He was nailed to the tree of life.

The Bible calls this grafting. A branch that is sick is cut off from a sick tree. Then a “wound” is cut from the good tree. The sick branch is inserted into the “wound” and bound together.

This is done so that the sick branch would receive the life of the good tree. So long as the sick branch remain in the good tree and rest, the life of the good tree continues to flow into the sick tree.

Eventually the dying branch becomes a living branch. It also becomes one with the living vine.

The Bible tells us that:

1 Peter 2:24
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”

Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.

Jesus was placed on the cross and was “wounded” for us to be grafted into him. The good vine. Through him we receive divine life.

John 20:31
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

This is how we were rescued. We were the branches of the sick tree called the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It was us that was supposed to be on the cross. Not him.

Yet the Father nailed him to the cross, so that we who are sick would be grafted onto him.

That my friends is what being crucified with Jesus means.

That is also why there is no more “tree of knowledge of good and evil”. This is because the lift giving tree put to death that tree in his death. In his resurrection that life giving tree’s life was fully transported into the sick tree.

That’s why in the book of Revelation, there are tree of life was either side. The tree of knowledge of good and evil had fully transformed into a tree of life.

Dear friends,

Do you know that these are all figures of what transpired on the cross?

The Law of Moses is the manifesto of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It is the Mount Sinai. The old Jerusalem. It is the Old Covenant. Hagar.

The destruction of all that began when Jesus was nailed to the cross. It opened the seals in Revelation 5.

It ushered the New Covenant. The New Jerusalem. The tree of life. The New Jerusalem. Sarah. Grace.

It culminated in AD70.

The tree of life that brings healing to the nations is already here.

Revelation 22:2
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

We have become part of that tree. We are the branches that bear fruit. We are the leaves that brings healing. This is because we have been grafted into Jesus.

Told you that it’s going to blow your mind.

Let’s worship.
