This is a respond to those people who labelled Pastor Joseph Prince and those who preach the message of grace, wolves.
“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.
By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.
Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues.
On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.”
I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.
I served the Lord with great humility and with tears and in the midst of severe testing by the plots of my Jewish opponents.
The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.
Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.
Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh. For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve God by his Spirit, who boast in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh—
Dear friends, every time scriptures uses the word “wolves” with the exception of Matthew 10, it also refers to people who demanded people to follow Judaism as their means of salvation.
In Matthew 10 it is used for local councils and the authorities. In such events those who encourage that the apostles be opposed are always the Jews who opposed the Gospel and people to keep the Law.
We preach that grace saves you. The people who make this kind of accusations are the ones who want to keep a message of half grace- half law.
You must understand that when Jesus told the people you will know them from their fruits, he wasn’t talking their work. It was about which tree they come from. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit.
There are 2 trees in the Bible. The tree of life which is Jesus and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That’s the law.
So the fruit is either produced by Jesus or the Law. The latter is the tree of the wolf.
In Philippians Paul used the term “dogs”. He calls the true believer the true circumcision. This means the dogs are people who practised false circumcision. Pharisees at Paul’s time.
So the next time you accused us of being wolves, I seriously suggest you study your Bible or if not hold up a mirror and bark at yourself.
