Inclusion, hell and Sonship.

Dear friends,

Does this verse tells us we are all saved and offsprings of God?

Ephesians 4:4-6
4 There is one body and one Spirit –just as you were called to one hope when you were called – 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Many will tell you that we have been reconciled to God and that everyone is now saved and God is father of all.

That is not true. Firstly Ephesians is written to the saints. Thus this verse refers to the saints.

Ephesians 1:1
To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

God our father here is referred here as to that of the saints in Christ Jesus.

Also Paul makes a distinction later by saying we are children of light and there is a difference between us and the rest of humanity.

Ephesians 4:17-20
Living as Children of Light

17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.
20 You, however, did not come to know Christ that way.

There is a difference.

Also Paul makes a command asking us not to be yoked with them.

Ephesians 5:5
5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person–such a man is an idolater –has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Friends, do not be deceive, not all humanity is saved. Not all people are God’s children. Only those who believe are given the right to be one.

John 1:12
12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God –

Be careful of those who teach out of context.

They will tell you that Adam is the son of God so all humanity are children of God. While that may be true that Adam is a son of God in the sense that God made Adam, it is not true all humanity has the spirit of Sonship.

Only those who have the Spirit of God is a son.

Romans 8:15-16
15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

The Gospel is clear. Not all humanity are his children. For example, Jesus called certain groups of people children of Satan.

John 8:42-44
The Children of the Devil

42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

You may argue that Jesus said this before he died, but so is your argument that that which follows Adam are all his children. While Adam was made in the image of God, that image did not continue in the lineage.

Humanity had Adam’s image not God’s.

Genesis 5:3
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth.

Only those in Christ has his image. Paul tells us that if a person is under the law, he does not carry this image. Only those who have turn to Christ have this image.

2 Corinthians 3:18
18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever- increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Further John makes a mark distinction between those who have believe and those who don’t.

1 John 3:10
10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

So dear friends, I find it disturbing as I begin to hear more and more people who love the grace of God who now accept an alien doctrine which teaches us that all humanity is saved. While all humanity has been reconciled, not all are saved.

Salvation is a personal choice. God is love they argued, he will save everyone. Love wins they say. How I wish that is true but love will not forced its way in your life. While we say God is love but love does not seek its own way.

1 Corinthians 13:5
or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

Love does not force itself on you.

While you argue that God has reconciled the world to himself, there is also a part for us to play. This simply means salvation is made is freely but we have to appropriate this by our own will.

2 Corinthians 5:20
20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

As a children it is my wish and hope that all humanity be saved. But our wishes and our desires must be based on revelation not on our wishes and desires.

As such my friends who believe that all humanity is included in the finished work of Jesus, I am sorry I do not concur with you. I also cannot agree with you that God will give another chance for  us at the resurrection.

The scriptures tells us that there are 2 resurrections. One of the living who are asleep to Christ and the other the resurrection of dead.

Revelation 20:5-6
5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

The second resurrection is a resurrection for judgement and second death.

Otherwise, the Spirit of God will not ask us to believe today and not wait until the resurrection.

Hebrews 4:7
7 Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before:
“Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts.”

God does not wait until then. Salvation is available now. Not later. You don’t get a second chance.

Yes, we are all included in his finished work, but one has to appropriate and be part of the work by one own’s choice. To say that we will be awaken at his time, I may agree to an extend. But what of those who refused? You may argue “oh there is a second chance when they are raised”.

I just showed you, there is the resurrection of those who had believed, there is a resurrection for those who refused him.

What happens after that 1000 years?

Revelation 20:13-15
13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

You can argue all you want about the semantics of Sheol, Gehenna, Hades and the rest. Here it just states, Sheol, Hades or Gehenna is thrown in the lake of fire. This is presumed by the fact that Satan is thrown in there too.

It’s not for rehabilitation. It is for punishment.

Revelation 20:10
10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

This takes place after the resurrection. Yes, after the resurrection. Those who believe that when we die we rest peacefully in the place of the dead, take note, it is after the resurrection.

There is also then this teaching that says that this lake is made for the purpose of rehabilitating people to them receive Jesus. For the sake of purifying them.

I say this, are you saying Satan, the false prophet and the anti Christ will be purified?

Revelation 21:27
27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Are their names written there? What of those whose names are not written?

Revelation 22:15
15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Lastly, is the Spirit saying to these people come in to the kingdom and given another chance?

Revelation 22:17
17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

I think not, the Spirit is not speaking to them. Look at the preceding verse.

Revelation 22:16
16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

It is to the churches. Not to the dead.

I am not here to criticize a doctrine but to tell you of my concern. Already the church today has a problem believing the authentic grace message labeling it as hyper. Friends, if we teach this unblibical teaching of saved, no hell gospel, people will turn away from the real message. Grace will not be grace if there is no element of punishment. It is when we are justified from punishment, grace and mercy exists. Grace is nothing if there is no judgement.

I know I will make a lot of you upset and many will call me names. I have in humility ask God the questions you posed to me and this seems to be his answer to me. Until then, this is where I stand. I hope you stand with me.

Peace.

  1. Ok Bro Simon, we have different lens in reading scriptures, let’s respect one another’s perspective/belief. Let us be united in the essentials, at liberty in the non-essential and be charitable in all other things. God love us all. I love you Bro. Shalom!

    • I agree. As I said, I would love it if the inclusive gospel theory is true. On closer examination, I find it elusive. I will grateful if we can come to a mutual study that shows me otherwise. I am sure you sense my sentiments not as to critic but to question. To embrace rather that to divide. I hope we can find the truth together. We are still one.

  2. Amen! I’m not sure where the idea of there is no hell is coming from. As you’ve said the bible talks about hell and satan etc.. a lot. It is appointed once for man to die and then the judgement. Heb 9:27

    • Holly Hebrews 9:27 actually does not speak about judgment but the sureness of the salvation of Jesus. A better authority would be the lake of fire…

  3. what happen to all those people who died before Jesus came the 1st time. Will Adam n EVE be in HEAVEN ?

  4. well I guess ole Adam’s curse of sin is stronger than Christ’s sacrifice on the cross…John the baptist was clueless when he said Jesus was going to take away the sins of the world, and Jesus was mistaken when he says he is the savior of the world…He really meant He is Savior only if you believe and do certain things as prescribed by thousands of different denominations and each with their own doctrine…and Paul was mistaken when he said nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God…who-by the way-wills all men to be saved…reckon our will not to follow God is stronger than His will to save us….thanks for clearing this all up….

    • It is so easy to make sweeping statements like this Chris. But you give no reasons why I should agree with you. There is no rebuttal towards what I show you towards the verses when read in context. Read carefully what Paul says, it does not say all are made righteous in Romans 5 it says many will be made righteousness. Also it also does not say We are condemned from Adam’s sins. We are condemned for rejecting the forgiveness from God. In your theology it is called refusing to be awaken. Paul is not mistaken.

  5. Simon, thank you for writing this and making a clear distinction about true grace vs. the inclusion message that has entered into the grace realm. I think you hit the main point when you said love cannot be forced. After months of studying and scrutinizing over this issue in my own beliefs, I came to this conclusion: Christ’s finished work was performed for all and as all, but is not performed “in” all aside from the work of the Holy Spirit at salvation. Else, Jesus and the apostles would have never used the phrase “…you shall be saved” but “you were saved”.

    • If children of the devil is not literal, then is the children of God literal? Please provide a basis for your argument.
