A convenient “truth”.

The Chinese word for the “truth” is this word: 真相. The first word 真 is a cross on a cupboard or a box. The box or cupboard here depicts the ark and the cross here could mean the number 10 or the cross of Jesus. The number 10 clearly denotes the 10 commandments.

The law was often buried in the ark and covered by the blood of the Lamb on a slab of gold called the mercy seat. The mercy seat was surrounded by two angels, one on the left the other on the right. When Jesus resurrected there were 2 angels on his tomb. One on the right the other on the left.

Paul tells us in Colossians 2:13-15 “13 When you were dead in your sins, you were not set free from the sinful things of the world. But God forgave your sins and gave you new life through Christ. 14 We had broken the Law many ways. Those sins were held against us by the Law. That Law had writings which said we were sinners. But now He has destroyed that writing by nailing it to the cross. 15 God took away the power of the leaders of this world and the powers of darkness. He showed them to the world. The battle was won over them through Christ.”

The charges of the Law which was temporary buried in the ark, was finally buried with Jesus in his tomb on the cross. Paul says it in another place in Ephesians 2:14-15 “14 We have peace because of Christ. He has made the Jews and those who are not Jews one people. He broke down the wall that divided them. 15 He stopped the fighting between them by His death on the cross. He put an end to the Law. Then He made of the two people one new kind of people like Himself. In this way, He made peace.”

Note again the Law was put to an end in the real ark, Jesus.

Jesus said “I am the Truth” in John 14:6.

The truth is this my friend, God has forgiven you of all your sins if you know the Truth. The Truth is not an idea. It is a person. His name is Jesus. I sincerely believe when Jesus said he was the truth, he made reference to himself as the ark of the covenant. The cupboard which is word  真 is made up of is the ark.

The second word 相 is made up of a tree and a set of eyes. It means beholding a tree. The tree is a reference to the cross of Jesus. Jesus died as a man that was cursed upon a tree Paul said. Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

It only behoves us that if we want to find the Truth, we can only find it in Jesus and the truth is this God has already wiped out your record of sins on the cross. Turn your eyes there behold the cross, look at it.

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

And that is the truth! Believe it!
