Notes from Joseph Prince’s message preached 18th April 2010.
Pastor Prince 18 April 2010
What is impossible with Man is possible with God… Are we willing to be made whole, are we willing to be made well? God loves us and wants us to be healthy. We can only overcome sin when we are under God’s grace!
Without faith it us impossible to please God. God responds when there is faith. Act according to your faith, be it unto you.
3 John 2
Beloved I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers.
Prosperity is harmonious relationships, our mind at peace and rest and money. God would rather hv us hv the money go into our hands as we will bless others with it.
With long life will i satisfy him
And show him My salvation.
The criteria of long life is our satisfaction. How many years are we satisfied with?
We live in the kingdom of God where the miraculous is for us to experience!
The world presents things that are not true, with conviction. The church has the Truth and has to present it with Excellence!
We live in God’s realm! The couple from Thailand believed, based on doctrine and the wife is now 4 months pregnant. What you believe can cause your children to be harmed or protected… Be it unto us acc to our faith!
Quenched the violence of fire…others were tortured…trials of mockings, and all these, having obtained a gd testimony through faith, did not receive the promise.
There is sth better for us. They did not receive the full promise.
“others were tortured not accepting deliverance.” They had been given the choice. 9 times out of 10, the Hebrew word for ‘deliverance’, refers to Jesus’s redemptive work; only once (and in this context) does it refer to deliverance.
The Lord gave them a choice to use the redemptive work to get out of this torture but they did not accept.
Paul was in a dilemma: a desire to depart and be in Christ, which is far better! But the other side wants to remain in the flesh which is more needful for you to be in the flesh. For your sake, I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith. Paul had a choice.
Paul had finished whatever God set him to do at the point of his decapitation. Every germ that touched him died. He was so full of life, so for him to die naturally would be too late. He was stoned and scourged five times and survived.
One suffering promise: all that live Godly in Christ will suffer persecution. It involves other people; opposing forces. Make sure that we are persecuted for Jesus’ sake; not becos of our own actions. Leap up for joy for great is our reward in Heaven: our reward comes from Heaven. If we make a stand for Jesus, we should feel joy to suffer for His name.
1 Corinthians 4:8-15
Apostle Paul has moved with holy jealousy over the people.
“Now you hv reigned as Kings w/o us.. And I would to God ye did reign…”
Paul was provoked to holy jealousy. Paul said that God put apostles last as it were appointed to death . ‘Hos’ – greek for ‘like unto’ (an adverb of comparision; theanthron : greek word for ‘spectacle’)
“We are fools for Christ but are wise in Christ. We are weak but you are strong… And labour, working our own hands…” He is provoking them to warn them. Paul is after this: “though you hv 10000 instructors in Christ, ye hv not many fathers, for in Christ Jesus have begotten you through the gospel” Now you are reigning as Kings, remember who is your father.
Others paid the price so that we can read the Bible. We fight so our children can enjoy their lives. Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly!
‘thorns in our side’, ‘pain in the neck’ – is an expression we use.. Paul tells us the ‘thorn in the flesh’ was a messenger from Satan. Pastor Prince never faced persecution till he preached grace!
People hv come to check New Creation Church out and hv never checked out! 🙂 we are persecuted so that people can enjoy the gospel of Grace.
The geese fly in a V shape… The first one breaks the wind current so it easier for those behind to fly. The weakest fly behind.
The Book of Acts is a book of history.
When it comes to Paul’s example in Acts…we must run with it. There was a woman possessed by the devil and able to predict things and followed Paul saying that these are the servants of the most High God but Paul was uncomfortable and rebuked the spirit and it left the woman.
By midnight Paul and Silas were singing praises to God; in their darkest hour. They sang praises to God to worship them. And there was an earthquake and the doors opened and everyone was released!
8 years later, Paul was preaching and the centurions wanted to kill Paul. The commander ordered him to be brought into the barracks and said he should be examined under scourging. Paul told the commander that he was a Roman and that he should take care about what he was doing. The commander said he had bought his citizenship but Paul had been born with it. The commander was afraid. Paul learned to use his citizenship. Paul had learned this in 8 years to use his citizenship.
We as Singaporeans should not go overseas bad mouthing our own country.
The Lord told Paul to be of good cheer. It was not Paul’s will to be in Jerusalem. Does not mean that God delivered you from a situation, does not mean that that situation was from God. The Lord is my shepherd… Yes though I walk through the shadow of death… We choose to walk through the valley of the shadow of death and God is with us. God’s Presence does not mean he sanctions the situation.
Paul was finding disciples who told Paul “through the Spirit” not to go to up to Jerusalem.
There was a Prophet named Agabus who said Thus says the Holy Spirit “So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles”.
Paul said that he is ready to be bound and to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord.
So when he would not be persuaded, we ceased saying “The will of the Lord be done”
Jesus told Paul to get out of Jerusalem quickly. We need to flow with the Spirit.
… They were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach to the roman province of Asia minor.
The Spirit did not permit them from going into Bithynia.
God leads by red lights; not green lights.
Pray about everything in your life.
This man, Jacob in the old testament had a daughter who went out to check out the daughters in the land and got raped. Jacob was supposed to be in Bethel but he had stayed in Shechem. But God did not mean for Jacob to be in Shechem.
Ask God for direction; pray over our decisions. Life being led by the Spirit is the best life.
We must not only hv a mandate but must hear the strategy; must hear the promptings of God.
Pastor is blessed when He goes away acc to the will of the Lord, following the peace or the lack of it.
Paul was stoned but lived to see another day. Steven died as he was calling on God, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!” He knelt them and cried out. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue.
And those who love it will eat it’s fruit.
We are too used to saying ‘die’. The devil knows his words hv no power as he is not seated on the throne. The devil cab suggest a lot of things and he needs us to say it. Do not say it!
Samson spoke his life out. “let me die with the Philistines”.
I speak life and healing in my life!
God has given us the authority!
When we pray for someone, just speak the word in his body.
Jesus had cried out with a loud voice: “it is finished!” “father into your hands do I commend my spirit”. The nails and the scourging did not kill him. He only died after breathing out these words. He is our example. Jesus died after bowing his head and breathing out His spirit. He rested His head in saving us and loving us at the cross. He dismissed His spirit.
God saw good after he declared it was good. He made us in His image. We hv power in our tongue! We are dear for the son of God to come down and die for us!
Be a good steward if our mouth. I will speak fruitfulness and prosperity into my circumstances in Jesus’s name!
Dying is not so noble as we hv work to do in God’s Kingdom. Confess the Word of God over your life and receive all that Christ has done for us at the Cross. The divine exchange is a proclamation of God’s love for us.
Thank you Terence Yeo for this note!
