How the heavens are shaken and why you shouldn’t be.

Many people speak about how the heavens are shaken when the end of the age is to come. It is important Jesus did not say the end of the world but end of the age. This relates to the end of the age of the Law.

Let’s look at the blood moon craze.

Joel 2:31
31 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

Why do most of us look at the blood moon events as a thing of the future, when it is fulfilled on the day of Pentecost?

Acts 2:20-24
20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.

21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. ’

22 “Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

Also it clearly points to the eventual destruction of the temple and Jerusalem which took placed in AD70.

Revelation 6:12 – 7:1
12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14 The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.
15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?”

If you read the above passage together with Jesus’s warning in Luke you will see the similarities.

Luke 21:20-22
20 “When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. 22 For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.

Now let’s see what this “shaking in heavens” is about.

If you read Hebrews 1-2 you would note that the Law was given by the angels. Also if we read Chronicles you will read the temple is surrounded by the cherubs. Hebrews 10 also tells us it is the Law that demanded the bull sacrifices. This means temple sacrifices were never meant for God but for the purpose of appeasing the justice demanded by the administration of the angels.

So the term “sinning willfully after the knowledge of the truth” means persisting in the temple worship. It was promised that should the nation of Israel persist in that, there would judgment and a raging fire that awaits the “enemies” of God.

This judgment came in AD70 when the temple was destroyed. When that happened the administration of the angels came to an end.

Paul says in Colossians 2 when the Law was nailed to the cross, the principalities and powers were stripped of their authorities. That means they lost their right to judge you. Jesus also says “I saw Satan fell like lightning.”

That is how the heavens are shaken. That is the signs that appear in the heavens (where the angels dwell).

Please note that I am not saying Jesus is not coming back. I am just saying that too many people are reading into things without knowing what is really being said.

I do believe Jesus is coming back soon but reading Matt 24, Hebrews 12 and the 6th seal without its context only cause us to live our lives full of fear. We live in grace not in fear. The shaking and the signs of the heavens are pointing to the end of the Law.
